My Uncle's 50th Birthday

Saturday, October 2, 2010

My Uncle Craig turned 50 and it was a huge celebration! We had family come up from NSW and over from WA.

My Uncle is quite partial to his hat and pluggers so we incorporated that into his cupcakes.

Chocolate lover and Jaffa flavours.

Please excuse the photo quality as I forgot to take some at home before we left.

Oh and thanks to my Mum and Aunty for their help with these ones, my Aunty even managed to sneak away with my top secret chocolate cupcake recipe!

Happy Caking,

Cupcaktes signature rose swirl ;o)

All vanilla cupcakes with half vanilla and half raspberry buttercream.

And 1st birthday cuppies for our lovely little neighbour Aiden.

Vanilla cupcakes with chocolate fudge buttercream.

I will be enjoying a lovely break next week with no cuppies to be baked! But plenty of fondant toppers to be handcrafted for a busy few weeks to follow.

Happy Caking,

Happy Birthday My Mr Roo!

Saturday, June 12, 2010

I can't believe my Spencey-roo is now 2 years old! He absolutely adores Toy Story and I wanted to attempt to ganache and cover a cake so this is what I came up with.

The cutting cake is chocolate mud with layers of chocolate ganache...so moist and delish! And the cupcakes are Vanilla Cake with Vanilla butterecram. The toppers are Woody's hats and boots and Buzz's spaceship.

Spencer was so excited about his "story" cake and that's all I needed to make me happy! He had an absolutely fantastic time at his party and was very spoilt with his beautiful presents.

Today I made some first birthday cupcakes I will post them tomorrow...Happy Caking everyone,

Come fly with me...

Sunday, June 6, 2010

Remember recently I donated some cupcakes for a Relay for Life fundraiser? Well the Relay for Life was run this weekend in Cairns and one of the participants in my friends team was celebrating his 30th birthday.

Being a pilot he likes all things planes, cupcakes are no exception! I really liked how these turned out, it was good to practice the clouds as I will be making some for a very special birthday cake this week!!

And this chocolate love buttercream is sooo yummo, it tastes like chocolate mousse!

I have a big week coming up with my beautiful baby boy's 2nd Birthday and a 1st birthday order on Sunday.

Happy Caking,

Country Cupcakes

Tuesday, June 1, 2010

These chocolate lover cupcakes where created for my sister-in-laws friend. It's her birthday today.

The theme was purple, country, girly pretty flowers and bows...hmmm I think I pulled it off.

I love the little cowboy hats! Will be making them again for Spencer's toy story cuppies, can't believe my baby is nearly 2.

More cupcakes for friends to come this weekend.

Happy Caking,

To Cure Cancer One Cupcake at a time...

Sunday, May 16, 2010

A friend of mine was involved in a trivia night last night to raise money for her Relay for life team.

I was asked if I would like to donate so I figured why not donate some cuppies so hopefully they could raise even more money!

They where chocolate cupcakes with white chocolate Italian Meringue buttercream.

They ended up raising at total $462.30, an awesome job!

Happy Caking,

Must run, I have cupcakes cooling and buttercream to make.

Happy Caking,

Happy Birthday Blayke!

Friday, April 30, 2010

Yesterday was my nephew Blaykes 8th Birthday. I remember the day he was born, going up to the hospital and meeting him for the first time...and now he is 8! And being 8 he is interested in all sorts of things I have no idea about, things like DragonballZ.

So I did my research...I googled "DragonballZ", hmmm what on earth can I do! Then I notice the actual balls where yellow with red stars, easy! I also wanted to make them a little more personalised so made some "B" for Blayke....although Blayke thought it was B for ball.

We had a great time celebrating and enjoying yummy cupcakes. I even had a mother from another party come up to me and ask where I got the cupcakes from I was very chuffed and replied "I made them!" If only I had a business card to pass on :o)

Oh and they where chocolate with vanilla American buttercream, as requested!

I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend, stay tuned for more cupckates tomorrow! :o)

(Sorry about the photo's we where in such a rush this morning I forgot to take some before we left home)

Happy caking,

and they're off!!

Tuesday, November 3, 2009

HI! Yesterday was my first Melbourne Cup with no big people or champagne :o) The kiddies and I made hats for fashions on the field and we had a horse race and everyone won a "Kate's Cup"!

Even though I was having a lovely day with the kids there was something constantly popping into my head, I HOPE MY CUPCAKES ARE OK!?!?! Haha I made some cupcakes (up till 12:30am, so tired!) for a friends function and had to drop them off in the morning. Normally I am in control of the cakes up until the very last minute and set them up for functions but today I had the kiddies and couldn't do it!

Anyway I needn't had worry as apparently they where a success and all went very quickly!

These are lucious lemon cake filled with tangy homemade lemon curd and iced with a sweet lemon buttercream and handmade sugar roses.

Nice side view of the pretty pink papers

And these are my new favourite! Moist Chocolate cake filled with Raspberry Chocolate ganache and topped with Raspberry Italian buttercream and handmade fondant butterflies and folwers. DELISH!

All packed and ready to go in the Cupcake Couriers

Happy Caking Everyone!
