Aussie, Aussie, Aussie...

OI OI OI!

Here are some cupkates I made for an old work collegue. She had a work mate returning from overseas and wanted some Australian themed cuppies.

They took me a little (OK a lot!) more time to make then I had anticipated, but I really like the painted effect.

The echidna is definitely my favourite, so cute!

The flavours where jaffa and cookies & cream again...can't go past a winner and my new favourites!

Happy Caking everyone,

Facebook friends and Cupkates...

Through the wonders of the internet or more specifically Facebook I have made contact with friends lost over the years. Some people I may know more about now then I did 10 years ago in high school, yes I'm old it's my 10 year reunion this year :P

(My first cupcake attempt for my Mum's birthday July 2008)

1 1/2 years ago I posted my very first cupcake photos on Facebook...they where shocking! But at the time I was still learning and had no idea of the endless cupcake possibilities. I also had a newborn son, so the fact I could even find the energy to bake a batch of cupcakes was amazing in itself. The response from my first photos was amazing, so many friends said such lovely things that I continued to add my cupcake photos and I really tried to improve my skills. I think all of that wonderful positive feedback is what has pushed me to continue with my passion of baking and decorating, the fact I could share with EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE.

Cookies & Cream and Jaffa Cupkates

Over the last month I have been inundated with friends asking me to bake special treats for them, I am simply amazed. I don't know what it is about cupcakes, childhood memories? sugar rush? soft fluffy cakes? but everyone wants some! So this past weekend I made some cupcakes for an old friend, who without Facebook we probably would have never crossed paths again.

Facebook and Cupkates, bringing people together!

Happy Caking everyone,
